Load & Speed

Load Index & Speed Symbol
The load index number and speed symbol shown on a tyre correspond to the maximum load-carrying capacity of that tyre and its maximum speed capability. For example, '96' indicates a load-carrying capacity of 710kg at maximum inflation pressure. The load index for most passenger car tyres ranges from 75–100.
High-Speed Considerations
For speeds over 210km/h, consult the tyre manufacturer.
Replacing Tyres with the Correct Speed Rating
When replacing the tyres on your car you should use replacement tyres with a speed rating equal to or greater than that of the original equipment tyres if the speed capability and handling characteristics of the car are to be maintained.
Understanding the Speed Symbol
The speed symbol indicates the speed rating as determined by indoor laboratory testing methods which measure high-speed tyre durability under controlled test conditions. These test procedures do not take into account under-inflation, tyre damage, vehicle characteristics, or road conditions that can lead to sudden tyre failure or loss of vehicle control at much lower speeds than those indicated by the tyre's speed rating.
Important Safety Reminder
Remember to never operate your car in an unsafe or unlawful manner. Your Toyo tyre dealer can provide you with more information on speed ratings.
